  4. You can run this driver under Windows 3.1 and Windows 95.
  5. This version resolves a timing issue with Cakewalk 3.01.

  16. 1. WHEN USING THE RAP-10 WITH MUSICATOR
  17.  
  18. When using version 2.2 of the RAP-10 driver with Musicator,
  19. you must add the "MidiInStart=Delay" to the [rap10.drv] section
  20. of the "SYSTEM.INI" file in your windows directory.
  21. It accommodates the timing differences between Cakewalk and Musicator.

  33. If you install the RAP-10 driver for the first time,
  34. please check the I/O port address and interrupt level
  35. consulting the "OWNER'S MANUAL".

  37.  2.1  Start up Windows 95.
  38.  2.2  Insert the driver disk into the floppy disk drive "A:\".
  39.  2.3  Double-click the "Add New Hardware" icon in the "Control Panel" window.
  40.  2.4  Click the "Next" button.
  41.  2.5  You will be asked;
  42.       "Do you want Windows to search for your new hardware?"
  43.       Select "No" and click the "Next" button.
  44.  2.6  Select the "Sound,video and game controllers", click the "Next" button.
  45.  2.7  Click the "Have Disk..." button and select the floppy disk drive "A:\".
  46.       Then click the "OK" button.
  47.  2.8  You will find a line "Roland Audio Production Card",
  48.       click the "OK" button.
  49.  2.9  Click the "Finish" button.
  50.  2.10 The setting dialog box appears.
  51.       Confirm the version number of the RAP-10 driver, it should read 2.2.
  52.       And confirm the settings of "Port", "Interrupt", and "DMA Channels".
  53.       Then click the "OK" button three times for Audio, MIDI,
  54.       and Line Input devices.
  55.  2.11 You will be asked "Do you want to restart your computer now?"
  56.       Pull out the driver disk and click the "Yes" button.

  61.  3.1 Double-click the "Multimedia" icon in the "Control Panel" window.
  62.  3.2 Click the "Audio" tab.
  63.  3.3 Select "RAP-10 Roland Audio Production" for "Preferred device"
  64.      in the "Playback" box.
  65.  3.4 Select "RAP-10 Roland Audio Production" for "Preferred device",
  66.      and select "CD quality" for "Preferred quality" in the "Recording" box.
  67.  3.5 Click the "MIDI" tab.
  68.  3.6 Select "Single instrument" and click "RAP-10 Roland Audio Production".
  69.  3.7 Click the "OK" button. Now, you have finished the driver settings.

  72. 4. UPGRADING THE DRIVER FOR WINDOWS 3.1

  74. If you install the RAP-10 driver for the first time,
  75. please check the I/O port address and interrupt level
  76. consulting the "OWNER'S MANUAL".
  77.  
  78.  4.1 Exit the Windows 3.1 and return to the DOS.
  79.  4.2 Insert the driver disk into floppy disk drive "A:\".
  80.  4.3 At the "C:\" prompt, type "COPY A:\RAP10.DRV C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM".
  81.  4.4 You will be asked to overwrite, type "Y" for yes.
  82.  4.5 Run Windows by typing "WIN" at the "C:\" prompt.
  83.  4.6 Double-click the "Control Panel" icon,
  84.      then click the "Drivers" icon and select the "Roland Audio Production".
  85.  4.7 Click the "SETUP" button and the setting dialog box appears.
  86.      Confirm the version number of the RAP-10 driver, it should read 2.2.
  87.      And confirm the settings of "Port", "Interrupt", and "DMA Channels".
  88.      Then click the "OK" button.

  91. 5. SETTING THE DRIVER  FOR WINDOWS 3.1

  93. If you install the RAP-10 driver for the first time,
  94. you need to take the following steps to set up the MIDI Mapper.
  95.  
  96.  5.1 Double-click the "MIDI Mapper" icon in the "Control Panel" window.
  97.  5.2 The "MIDI Mapper" dialog box appears. 
  98.  5.3 Click "New" button in the "MIDI Mapper" dialog box.
  99.      The "New MIDI Setup..." dialog box appears,
  100.      type as follows for "Name" and "Description"
  101.  
  102.      Name:        RAP10
  103.      Description: Setup for RAP10 MIDI Channels
  104.  
  105.  5.4 Click the "OK" button.
  106.  5.5 The "MIDI Setup" dialog box appears.
  107.      Pull down the "Port Name" list
  108.      and select the "RAP-10 Roland Audio Production" for all the 16 channels. 
  109.      When finished, click the "OK" button.
  110.  5.6 The "Save changes..." dialog appears, click the "Yes" button.
  111.  5.7 Then click the "Close" button to complete the operation.
